New Features

Expand Early Reading Practice with New Basic-Level Decodable Books

Affects:  Young Learners |  All Waterford Programs

Students will have access to 10 new Basic-level decodable books designed to provide additional practice with early phonics skills. The informational books include word patterns and sight words that students are ready to read at each point in the learning sequence, with added opportunities to practice consonant blends and digraphs.

The new books also introduce early readers to informational text features such as captions and bolded words, helping students apply their developing reading skills while exploring engaging nonfiction content. The books are available digitally within the learning sequence, with audio support available for both full text and individual words, and as PDFs.

Build Blending Skills with New Phonics Activities

Affects:  Young Learners |  All Waterford Programs

New activities give students additional practice blending sounds, including consonant blends and digraphs. The activities offer opportunities to learn, practice, and demonstrate these skills through guided practice, independent practice, and assessments.

The new activities complement the Basic-level decodable books, giving students additional practice with the phonics skills they need to read the new texts. This added practice helps early readers build confidence and accuracy as they develop their reading skills.
