Reading Skills Taught and Scope & Sequence

  • Waterford Early Learning’s reading curriculum is organized around a systematic, explicit, and research-based scope and sequence for six instructional strands for literacy, including Phonics, Phonological Awareness, Communication, Language Concepts, Comprehension & Vocabulary, and Fluency. It offers instruction focused on helping students learn what the words say combined with instruction to assist children in building a rich vocabulary through songs, stories, videos, and interactive activities.

Math and Science Skills Taught and Scope & Sequence

  • Waterford Early Learning’s math and science curriculum is built around five key strands: Number & Cardinality, Operations & Algebraic Thinking, Measurement & Data, Geometry, and Science. Students develop foundational skills through engaging, interactive lessons that move from concrete to abstract concepts. Virtual manipulatives, story problems, and hands-on activities help build number sense and fluency, while adaptive instruction ensures each learner progresses at their own pace.

SmartStart Skills Taught and Scope & Sequence

  • SmartStart combines independent online learning with in-class, hands-on activities for a comprehensive PreK experience. SmartStart meets many national and state early learning standards with online and in-class activities.
