Waterford Reading Academy System Requirements

Our Waterford.org software is accessible to students and educators using either our downloadable mobile application, Waterford Reading Academy, on supported mobile devices listed below, or in the desktop browser experience in accordance with the supported minimum requirements listed below.

Please be aware that some content, such as our Benchmark Assessments, are not supported on touchscreen mobile devices such as tablets or iPads, and compatibility is only supported on laptops/computers using the desktop browser experience and require the use of a physical mouse

Windows PC Hardware Requirements

  • Recommended Operating System: Windows 10 +
  • Processor: Processor Intel® Pentium® 4 1.6 GHz or higher
  • Recommended CPU: 64-bit
  • Recommended RAM: 8GB or greater
  • Internet: Broadband internet connection
Low broadband-connection speeds may limit the total number of concurrent users.
  • Browser: Google Chrome™—most recent version recommended
  • Peripherals:
    • Sturdy headset or speakers
    • Computer mouse and keyboard (Touch screen functionality works with iPad or Android apps only)
    • Microphone (Recommended for individual instruction)
    • Interactive whiteboard, projector, or large monitor (Recommended for group instruction)
    • Webcam (For additional login options such as QR codes)

Apple Mac Hardware Requirements

  • Recommended Operating System: Mac OS X 12 (Monterey) or higher
  • Processor: Intel Mac 1.8 GHz or higher
  • Recommended CPU: 64-bit
  • Recommended RAM: 8GB
  • Internet: Broadband internet connection

The WACS assessment and some Readables are not currently compatible with the Waterford Reading Academy Student App.
  • Recommended Operating System: iOS 17+
  • Processor: 1 GHz +
  • Recommended CPU: 64-bit
  • Screen Resolution: 1200 x 1920 pixels; 16:10 ratio (~206 ppi density)
  • Recommended Hardware: 10th Generation or Higher for iPad, 6th generation or higher for iPad Pro, 5th generation or higher for iPad Air
Product performance may suffer when below recommended level.
  • Internet: Wi-Fi 802.11n/4G

  • Peripherals:

Android Tablet Hardware Requirements

  • Screen Resolution: 1200 x 1920 pixels; 16:10 ratio (~206 ppi density)
  • Recommended CPU: 64-bit
  • Recommended RAM: 8GB
